Dear visitors, Whether you're just passing through or live in Paris, this map, hand-drawn over several months, is an invitation to discover (or rediscover) the richness and poetry of Paris' most original and atypical neighbourhood. Quickly after I moved to Montmartre and started to explore all its tiny streets, the magic of the hill inspired me and pushed me to pick up my pencil. The atmosphere that I could feel in Montmartre, and the dozens of points of interest I discovered, made me draw on a large sheet of paper the map you'll find here. A hundred of these points of interest are represented on the map. They are listed in the following categories: 1. Religion: Montmartre, close to the sky 2. La Bohème: Montmartre, a village of artistes 3. Legendary restaurants of the hill 4. Montmartre, a major place of history 5. Water in Montmartre 6. Other curiosities in Montmartre On the reverse side of this drawing, you'll find a description for each of these 100 points of interest. Fifteen of these are, in my opinion, not to be missed during a short visit to Montmartre. They are represented by golden circles. With this map, I invite you to discover that Montmartre is much more than just an urban hill on which stands a beautiful Basilica. Let yourself be seduced by a special atmosphere: the atmosphere of a small countryside village where charm and conviviality meet the lively energy of tourist groups, shopkeepers and locals. I also invite you to discover the rich history of the area and to be surprised by all the cultural elements you will find here.
